will anyone actually read this entry? oh well, it's more so i remember all the amazingness of Virginia.
okay, well now that's it's April 25th, i guess i can write about Virginia Beach even though we got back like 7 days ago.
let's start at the beginning
Thursday: woke up at like 5:10 am out of excitement, finished packing, left for VHS. then ate breakfast and took attendance and all that wonderful stuff, then ran to the busses and left. so on the way down i sat next to...um...i actually don't remember. i might have sat by myself for a bit, then sat next to Allie carpenter to talk to veronica. and we all moved around a lot so it was good. stopped for lunch at Wendy's, then back to the busses. we watched Office Space which is a very guy-ish movie. there were some funny parts, but overall it was just dumb. The bus was very fun, teaching Jack and adam to pay slide, talking about thier Wenises. oh, band kids...so after we got to VA, we checked into the hotel and had like 45 minutes of free time during which we established...nothing. Actually we did go check out the beach, but that's about it. So we went to The Golden Coral for dinner, and it was a buffet type place. it was pretty okay, i had some decent fried chicken and ice cream and gummy bears and such. so we came home and jazz choir had a rehersal while we just visited people and went to a little grocery store, then chorus had an unannounced rehersal until like 10:45, so we had no time to do anything after. so even though bed check was at 11, we were up until at least 1:00 getting settled and eating oreos. yum. okay, that's the end of thursday.
Friday: woke up early with the alarm clock, watched part of the sunrise, took a picture. then i got in the shower and by the time i was out, the sun had risen completely. disappointing. so we went to breakfastat the hotel and i had bacon, cereal, potatoes, all of which weren't very good, but after all, it was a hotel so i can't expect too much. then we went out to the busses and drove to Norfolk University. on the bus we played more slide, but it started to piss off the upperclassmen. too bad, they were the ones who started Slide in the first place. so when we got there, concert band rehearsed then competed, Africa sounded amazing, as well as Glasgow. then the concert choir performed, and we were good too. let's see...then we went to the mall, and i got a shirt/jacket thing from Forever 21 and an orlando poster from FYE. i was so determined to buy POTC on VHS so we could watch it on the bus ride home, but it was $25, which is more than i payed for the DVD, so i didn't get it. so i had a milkshake, and walked around a little more, then we left for dinner at Piccadilly. It was another buffet type place and once again we had fried chicken. After dinner we went back to Norfolk and the jazz choir performed. then we watched some random other people and then the jazz band performed. wow, if you're reading this an you are in jazz band, you are my complete hero and you're amazing beyond compare. wow. that's all i can say to describe it. (maybe i should find a box!! hahaha oh my god i'm a freak.) okay so we went home, and they gave us time to go on the beach, so we did, and we were going to have chicken fights, but nobody was game and we had to go inside. so we just ran around a lot. then we went back up to our rooms and didn't sleep for a while, but eventually did go to sleep.
Saturday: best day ever. woke up, had breakfast, went to the marching band competition. we weren't that good, but it doesn't really matter that much. so we were on our way back to the hotel, and the teachers said that a group of us could go to Busch Gardens earlier at like 10:5 if we wanted to. so naturally, i wanted to go with that group. so i think one bus would have left early and the other two would leave at 12:15. Good plan, right? well, my bus (bus 2) broke down. so we were ona highway in virginia with a busload of kids wanting to go to Busch Gardens. so we had to pile onto busses 1 and 3. i was on 3, so i was kind of sitting on the freshman and veronica was sitting on me and we weren't so happy because we missed our bus. but we got backto the hotel, and since there were now only 2 busses, we all had to go to Busch later in the day. we got back to the hotel and like 10:00 and we had to leave at like 12:15. so a bunch of us went to the beach and just walked around. we saw some insane people who actually went in the ocean, so we laughed at them for being cold and dumb, so we burried ana up to her skirt and took a funny picture. then we decided to join the crazy kids and we put on our bathing suits and ran into the ocean. it was like 45 degrees in the ocean, but it was amazingly fun. my feet were pretty numb for a while after, though. then we went in the poolwhich felt REALLY warm after being in the ocean, and i went in the hot tub for like 8 second and it was too disgustingly hot so i just went back in the normal pool. i got bored of that after like 10 minutes, though, so me and gabby went back out to the beach and just laid in the sun. i actually could have stayed there forever. but nope! becasue i had to take a shower and get ready for...BUSCH GARDENS!!! so we got ready and i ran to bus 3 so i could get an actual seat, but the freshman were being jerks and wanted the seat me, veronica and ana were in. sucks for them because seniority rules out big time in band. so when we finally got to Busch Gardens, me, ana, gabby, veronica, adam, brian and kyle set out for Apollo's Chariot. the line was Way long, but we waited there for a while and it moved a little. so then more wonderful news. Apollo's Chariot broke down. we waited for like 4 minutes and naturally nothing happened, but i kind of wanted to wait it out. ana, gabby, veronica, kyle and brian left, but me and adam stayed and waited. after they left, a LOT of people must've been thinking like them, because so many people left, it took no more than 30 minutes to get through a line that normally would've taken 2 hours. so we got the front seats, and on the way up i was dying and yelling at adam for making me go on, but it was actually the best thing ever. when i say the best thing ever, i mean better than everything. honestly. so after Apollo's Chariot, we walked around for like an hour and a half, trying either to find the entrance to Alpengeist or the rest of our group. The signs in the park were no help, and we couldn't find Alpengeist, so we went to Lochness Monster instead. that, too was amazing. not quite as amazing as Apollo's Chariot, but wonderful nonetheless. i think it's like, the only (or maybe the first) roller coaster to have interlocking loops. i like loops. i really wanted to take my camera on with me and take a picture straight down as we were going upside-down, but i didn't. so naturally as soon as we got off Lochness, we saw a sign for Alpengeist. As we were waiting on the line, we saw ana, veronica, gabby brian and kyle! we were going to wait for them after we got off, but they got on the ride before us since we wanted to be in the front and they wanted the back. so we went on it, it was beyond greatness, then we walked around a while longer looking for friends or something else to do. we finally just went to the picnic place and ate dinner (yes, fried chicken). i met back up with all my friends and we decided we wanted to go back on Apollo's Chariot, so we ran to it, but the line was like 6 hours and we only had about an hour and 15 minutes, so we couldn't do that. then we spilt up again, and ana gabby veronica and brian went to look for Lochness Monster, but adam and i just walked around aimlessly and acomplished nothing. we looked for a carousel, but couldn't find one. i dont think the others found Lochness, though, i believe they went on the swings. so after an hour of aimless wondering, we went to the awards ceremony. our school won first place in everything, but second in marching band. James got outstanding soloist (much deserved) and jazz band got some 'best section' awards. so after a wonderful day of roller coasters, we all went (ran) back to the busses and found our beloved bus 2 waiting for us! we were all so happy that we has our bus back. The ride home was very quiet and kind of cold, becasue everyone fell asleep but i didn't. when we got back to the hotel, we had pizza soda snacks, but the snacks were peppermints and the soda was only mountain dew. hehehe. oh yeah, so we went back up to our room at like, quarter after 12, so we were bored, and nobody told us when curfew was, so we went to visit people. on our way to the 4th floor, we got in trouble for not being in our rooms. oh well. so we went back to our room, i saw a troy commercial, we packed our stuff and got ready to sy goodbye to Virginia Beach.
Sunday: woke up at 7, went to breakfast, and talked about how i missed Busch Gardens. then we got our stuff, loaded the busses, and said farewell. it was a very sad experience. well anyway, the busses are always fun, plus we watched Dumb and Dumber and When in Rome with MaryKate and Ashley Olsen, so that was good to laugh at. naturally, we played more slide, sat around, talked to everyone, played slide, ect...so we got home at around 7:45 and i was not in a very good mood because it was officiallythe end of the band trip. next year in Florida is going to be the greatest!
band is so much fun. sometimes i really hate it (example: marching band) but the kids are all fun and the hard stuff is all part of getting to the fun stuff. lynch is a lot better too, this year. he's not so jerky anymore and he's loosened up a bit.
oh wow, i miss VA so much.
monday: track meet, left school early
tuesday-friday: i don't remember much, so nothing is worth writing about
saturday: went up to a random mountain with dennis and my dad. i don't really know why, but i woke up and my dad told me we were going, so i went. then we went to the Paramus Park mall on the way home, i got 4 tank tops from H&M and a shirt from Aeropostale. then i went home for bit, then picked up krisite and went to adam's play which was good. we met adam's girlfriend, Alli, (krisite correctly guessed who she was because she's good at life) oh yeah, and we saw CHET!! haha Chet VanDoren. what a kid. krisite was like...Hey! it's chet! and it was! it was chet! haha but he doesn't have the flip anymore which is kind of disappointing. hahaha
oh wow. 19 days until Troy. oh my god. we're past 20. Nineteen. Score.
to make this entry even better, here's a little quiz i stole from elana.
What kind of band geek are you?
